The bar was wonderfully warm, warding off the chill of autumn turning into winter. Not that Josephine cared all that much about warmth. No matter how long she sat in that bar her skin would not reheat. She would never hold that pretty pink flush in her cheeks, nor the fluttering heart of a girl in love. All things considered, Josephine thought she was doing well for herself. She was not so weak as to need a man. Well...not for that purpose anyways.
Her molten gaze swept the dimly-lit building, concentrating on scouting out a potential...dinner guest. Yes, a dinner guest. Her lips twitched upwards into a smug smile at that thought. Oh her parents would be so proud to see their little girl finally inviting a man over for supper. Too bad he was going to be dinner.
Josephine wove through the bodies on the bar's surprisingly crowded dance floor, very careful not to touch anyone with her icy hands, though anyone she did brush against would assume she had just arrived and was still cold from being outside. But she'd been here a good hour or so. She always lost track of the more minute passages of time. When you'd seen decades come and go without any direct effect on oneself, an hour hardly seemed consequential.
Tonight the young female vampire had chosen chestnut brown hair, a rich mixture of orange and red tones that was just shy of being called auburn. And though her eyes were pools of blood, she did not frighten the human she approached as those too had been disguised. Instead of her thirsty gaze, the man with a five o'clock shadow was captivated by a pair of bright green eyes, clear and vibrant in the center and a dark forest green along the edges of the iris. She was exotic-looking, but not so much so that she would not fit into this more homely atmosphere.
She turned demure when she caught his gaze at long last, quirking her lips seductively and using that unfair advantage of hers to hold his attention and silently beckon him forward. As soon as he was close enough, she leaned towards him, her sultry voice sounding in his ear. "Why don't we go someplace quiet to talk? I'd like to get to know you better." She pulled away and her smile became that little bit more earnest as she saw his chest inflate with self-importance and a triumphant gleam appear in his eye.
He had come alone to the bar and was certainly not the most attractive man there by any stretch of the imagination. He was probably a loner, a bachelor or a divorcee whose wife had long since moved on and left him with nothing but pathetic memories. Not that she cared about his past. No, Josephine only cared about the quickly approaching, not-so-distant future. She inhaled deeply, her eyes momentarily rolling back into her skull. His was a musky scent, masculine, woody, not the one that nearly drove her wild with desire, but a treat nonetheless. She led him away from the bar and to her apartment, holding the door open for him and gesturing to make himself comfortable on her red couch. And as she approached him, her eyes shone crimson.
She could still hear herself laughing..

Why don't we go someplace quiet to talk? I'd like to get to know you better. She pulled away and her smile became that little bit more earnest as she saw his chest inflate with self-importance and a triumphant gleam appear in his eye.
She could still hear herself laughing.
